------------------ Today Sommelier Lisbon travels to one of the most distinct wine regions in Portugal. In 1908, Dão became the second Portuguese demarcated region. Situated in Beira Alta, in the north central Portugal, protected from winds by the mountains of Caramulo, Montemuro, Buçaco and Serra da Estrela. The vineyards are planted between 400 and 700 meters altitude, in the highlands of granite and schist soils of shallow depth, where pine forests abound, producing full-bodied wines with a high aging capacity in the bottle. Characteristics: Firm tannins, above average degree of acidity, delicate aromas, velvety flavor and alcoholic content between 13 and 15 degrees. Harmonization: Roasted cod fish, grilled white meats and our best "Pata Negra" ham. Grapes: The Dão features a wide range of varieties, including the famous Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Jaen and Tinta Roriz and Encruzado, Bical, Cercial, Malvasia Fina and Verdelho.

SOMMELIER SHOW

We are a family of “wine lovers”, a space for sharing and interaction between wine producers, wine merchants, sommeliers and people who simply enjoy this magnificent nectar.

We would like to gather around our table and our wine a group of friends, from all social and professional spheres, who can share ideas and experiences around wine with us.

We started a series of initiatives, such as wine tasting, meetings with wine producers, visits to their farms and cooking workshops.

We count on your support to make Sommelier Lisbon a great Family!
